I went to Enolo Wine Cafe to meet my friend Christina (of The Chicago Photog Blog) for a glass of wine. It was a frigid evening, and the wine bar was a warm, comforting retreat from the cold. Enolo is a beautiful spot to grab a drink, complete with gold wall medalions, vaulted ceilings, a clean white bar and many crystal chandeliers. It's a classy place that makes you feel like you're inside a glass of champagne. I greeted Christina and ordered a light dinner. Then, sipping the 2012 Tablas Creek Syrah Blend, I settled into a fun evening of catching up with a friend.

It was the best way I've spent a Monday night in a long time. Enolo's wine list is well curated, with something to offer any palette. Their menu is also enjoyable, I particularly loved the French Onion Soup and the Turkey Bacon Panini.

Service at Enolo is attentive, yet leisurely. We did not feel rushed or like our server was trying turn the table. I love that! Also, their customers are almost all women, so it's a great spot to take a hiatus from the men in our lives. My only warning is that time flies here! The wine poured freely and our conversation was humming along and before I knew it, it was 9pm on a Monday night and I had a 6am conference call the next morning. I chalk it up to the comfortable warm atmosphere. Everything you need is taken care of, so you can focus on enjoying your evening, virtually uninterrupted.

If you're looking for a fantastic place to catch up with a girlfriend over a glass of wine, try Enolo

Cheers!
