DIY Date: Afternoon Picnic
Picnic Basket

"A picnic is more than eating a meal, it is a pleasurable state of mind" -DeeDee Stovel

(Tweet that!)

A picnic is sometimes considered a somewhat old-fashioned, romantic notion that is often overlooked as a potential date. I would like to challenge that. An afternoon full of sunshine and lounging in the grass, sipping wine is a pleasurable way to enjoy each other's company and an excellent opportunity to unplug. So, let's get started!

Step 1: Pick your Site.

There are many beautiful places to take your partner for your picnic. Here are some of my picks for the Chicago-land area:

Waterfall Glen in Darien

Northerly Island Park

Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool in Lincoln Park

Oz Park

Creekside Trail Bemis Woods Preserve in Western Springs

Morton Arboretum

Really, any semi-secluded scenic spot makes a great picnic site.

Step 2: Pack Your Picnic Basket

Suggested Menu:

Lemon Cloud Cookies Dipped in Chocolate

Step 3: Load your Picnic Playlist

Step 4: Grab your honey and GO!

The weather is finally breaking here in Chicago and it's the perfect time to get some fresh air with your honey. Enjoy!

Until next time...
